Placement and higher-study counts are kept separate. One Mechanical student appears in both 2025-26 lists, so the two numbers are not added into a single success rate. 2025-26 figures are provisional and may change as the departments finalise records. Columns marked “partial” cover 2026-27 to date only.

Placements
Mechanical Engineering has the largest share of the institute’s placement offers. Across seven academic years, the annual counts add up to 145 Mechanical students placed out of 378 final-year students, through 169 offers. Placement rates rose from 23.5% in 2019-20 to a peak of 72.2% in 2024-25. In provisional 2025-26, 10 of 22 final-year students (45.5%) were placed, with a highest package of ₹3.60 lakh.

How to read this: an offer is one selection record, so a student with two offers counts twice (for example, 2021-22 had 49 offers for 33 students). Distinct students placed counts each student once in a year. Placement rate = distinct students placed ÷ final-year students of that year. The total row adds annual counts; it is not a count of distinct students across years. Average packages are not shown because some package entries cannot be reconciled with their monthly figures.

Participations count every attendance by a student or staff member, so one person attending several activities is counted several times. 2026-27 activities are not included because the dates in that year’s record need checking.
2 · Internships & Skill Training
Internships & Skill Training
Mechanical students complete a 2-week Internship-I in semester 3 and a 6-week Internship-II in semester 5, mostly with industry. Across six batches from 2022-23 to 2025-26 there were 179 Mechanical participation records against 233 eligible places (76.8%). 177 of 179 took place on-site at the host organisation.

Participation records, not students: the same student can appear in Internship-I and again in Internship-II, so the total counts participation records and is not a count of distinct students. Eligible students are the Mechanical strength of the relevant semester. 2026-27 (partial): skill-based training for 2026-27 is in progress and is not shown, because the batch spreadsheet and the printed report give different Mechanical counts that need confirming.
3 · Higher Studies
Higher Studies
Many Mechanical diploma holders continue their studies at engineering colleges and universities. Over nine academic years, the annual counts add up to 281 Mechanical students admitted to higher studies. In provisional 2025-26, 12 students (54.5% of 22 final-year students) did so, all in Mechanical Engineering, across 9 institutions, mostly engineering colleges in Gujarat.

Placed and also in higher studies
Mechanical students who appear in both the placement and higher-study lists of the same year.
2025-26: 1 student appears in both lists, so 21 distinct students are recorded as placed or in higher studies out of 22 final-year students.
Because students can be in both groups, placements and higher studies are never added into one combined success rate on this page.

Why some percentages are blank: in 2019-20, 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25 the placement and higher-study lists together name more distinct students than the recorded final-year strength (for example, 31 students against 18 in 2024-25), so a share of final-year students cannot be stated reliably. Counts are still shown. “Also placed” is available only from 2019-20, when placement records start.
4 · Faculty Development
Faculty Development
Faculty and staff keep their skills current through FDP and STTP courses, NPTEL/MOOC certifications, induction programmes and, since 2024-25, industrial training. The department recorded 142 Mechanical training records between 2019-20 and 2026-27, involving 21 faculty and staff members. That is 48.6% of the 292 records for the whole institute.

Records, not programmes: one training record is one person attending one programme, so a programme attended by three faculty makes three records. Distinct programmes are counted by matching title, dates and organiser, and the total row is for all years together. The percentage of Mechanical faculty trained is not shown because the source lists faculty strength for the whole institute only. Records for 2020-21 and 2021-22 are all online. 2026-27 covers July to September 2026 only.

Public summaries for Mechanical Engineering only, as tables of totals by academic year. They open in Excel, Google Sheets or any text editor. Each file states its source and reporting period.
The summaries contain no names, enrolment numbers, contact details, category data or signatures. The original department spreadsheets and signed reports are not published.

What was checked
Mechanical totals were recounted from the department’s student-level records and matched the report summaries.
Spreadsheet and printed-report figures agree for placements, higher studies, faculty training and internships (except 2026-27 skill training).
Placement and higher-study lists were compared student by student to find overlap.
What is left out, and why
Average packages, because some package entries do not match their monthly figures.
2023-24 highest package, for the same reason.
Higher-study percentages for 2019-20 and 2022-23 to 2024-25, because the final-year strength looks too small.
2026-27 skill-based training and Cell activities, which are still in progress and need confirming.
The Training & Placement Office page uses the Criterion 8 presentation, which covers different reporting windows, so its totals differ from the full-period totals above. Academic years run from July to June. Figures marked provisional or partial may change.
