GTU Detention Rules

  • Students having more than 4 backlogs, excluding the immediate previous semester's backlogs, are not eligible to continue their studies until they fulfil the eligibility criteria.
  • Immediate previous semester backlogs are not counted for detention purposes.
  • ExampleSuppose you have 2 backlogs in Semester I, 1 in Semester II and 3 in Semester III, and you are studying in Semester IV. Total backlogs = 6 (2+1+3), but for detention only 3 (2+1) are counted, so you are not detained. When you reach Semester V, all backlogs before Semester IV are counted, and if you have not cleared any of them, you are detained.
